Dr. Broomand received her doctorate from Pacific Graduate School of Psychology in Palo Alto, California with an emphasis on child and adolescent psychology and neuropsychological assessment. She completed an APA-approved internship at the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles with a specialty in neuropsychological evaluation. She then spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow in the neuropsychology program at the University of California Davis Medical Center. Presently, Dr. Broomand maintains both a private practice and a position with Kaiser Permanente.

Dr. Broomand's primary areas of work include psychological and neuropsychological evaluations of children, adolescents, and young adults with histories of medical conditions which affect brain functioning such as brain tumors, traumatic brain injuries, spina bifida, and cerebrovascular accidents, as well as neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disorders, and ADHD.

Evaluations are geared toward answering diagnostic questions, comparing baseline and post-treatment levels of functioning, and monitoring cognitive development over time. Recommendations for parents, schools, and physicians are regarded as one of the most important contributions of a neuropsychological evaluation. To that end, Dr. Broomand makes a concerted effort to familiarize herself with available resourses within the community that may assist families and patients in achieving a higher level of functioning.
